Why get involved?

During our trip to Kenya we got a small glimpse of how the rest of the world lives. We have returned with a new appreciation for the privelages and opportunities we have grown up with and a deep desire to help create a more equitable world.

We know it's difficult to give your precious time and resources to people who you may never meet. It's hard enough to engage with all the problems right in your own town. Still, this work is really exciting, because it's making a difference. It's giving kids opportunity and fostering some genuine cultural connections.

NOTE: For many years to come visits to Kenya will be down because of the recent violence. While there are legitimate safety concerns about being there during political unrest, this IS NOT the normal state of things. Kenya is one of the safest places in East Africa and westerners are not normally in much danger. We hope future travelers will not miss out on the amazing experience we had because of temporary unrest.
